Painted Portrait of Joanna, March 2019
I had seen several postings on Instagram of the women that Julizza had shared from her photoshoots. Never in a million years would I have considered doing a Beauty Shoot, until I saw the details of what it takes to see the end-product. It was then that I that I could not resist this opportunity.
She met with me to get to know me better and it was through conversation that I saw her passion and love for the subject – ME!! Questions that were being asked, at that time I didn’t understand how all this fit into the photoshoot, but I knew without a doubt Julizza knew what she was doing. Professional, but personable at the same time. Also at this time, I knew what my 3rd gown would be – my wedding dress. This year is our 15 year anniversary and the year where my husband and I bust out of this box of life that we have been drowning in. This is the whole purpose of this Beauty Shoot – to see a side of myself that I have not seen in at least 20 years. My husband had NO IDEA the details of the photoshoot.
The day of the photoshoot I was very excited. I went in without any expectations, other than to enjoy my time with Julizza and very excited about the idea of being able to wear my wedding gown. My hair and make-up artist, Marlene, did a fantastic job and really enjoyed my time with her.
At the time of the photoshoot, words I would use to describe Julizza are …… love, compassion, beauty, laughter, passion, fun, so much fun to be with her. She made me feel so beautiful. I found the fun, relaxed side of me. As a matter of fact, I was in awe of her during the whole shoot, because of, again, the passion and love of the subject – ME!!
During the meeting to decide which photos we would want to purchase (she does not make this easy), the best part, seeing my husband’s expression. The tears he hid very well from me. His expression of love for me….priceless. Conversations that he and I had after this meeting, are just the beginning for my husband and I rebuilding our relationship. God opened this door of opportunity, and I thank the Lord for bringing Julizza in our life and know that she has a special gift for loving people through the eye of the lens.
