I’m doing a rebrand of my portrait studio and am feeling the pieces of my journey finally coming together. As an entrepreneur, I have always been “ok” with change-in fact, I’ve looked forward to it. I never have felt good when I’m not changing or evolving in some way. Complacency and comfort scares me. I’m not sure if you can relate, but since you’ve followed me for a while, I’m sure you’ve seen my work evolve, as well as my voice and my message. It’s not that I never thought any of these things that I’m sharing ever before, but I had to grow into the mindset a person that could support the strength of my message. It has been a long time coming, and if you could speak to my best friend about it, you would know just how much it cost me to get where I am now.
If you were a fly on the wall of my home, or if you could see inside my heart, you would see that the garden of my soul grows almost daily. That doesn’t mean that the sun always shines, but even growth can happen in the dark, as you know God can do anything.
I am changing the name of my studio to “Julizza Gomez Portraits”. Most importantly, however, I am keeping my message and purpose the same. My purpose remains to instill a sense of value and worth in my subjects and followers, through art, encouragement, friendship, and storytelling. I aim to share my knowledge with you through the lessons I experience.
I had a client call the other day and it was evidence that what I want to have happen is actually working. She called to tell me that she had a personal breakthrough due to the experience of a women’s photo shoot she did with me, and that her marriage also had a breakthrough. I cannot tell you how happy that makes me and how priceless it is to me. That is what my life, and this business, is truly about.
With regard to my life changes, God asked me this morning, “Why does a bird leave one tree for another?” I mentioned maybe its scared, maybe it will find more food there, etc. I dreamed up reasons why that would be so. God responded, “Because it has depleted the resources of the current one, and it’s time to find a new branch. It doesn’t look back at the old branch and apologize or wonder how the branch is doing. It doesn’t feel bad for it. It is simply grateful for the resources that branch had, and finds a new one.” The same goes for me. I am always worried about the old things I leave behind, but God is telling me to be grateful for them, but go and enjoy the new branch I’m on. So I will.
I want to let you know that I appreciate your support and I need it to continue to grow. I am glad you’re on this journey with me, and I am thankful that you are watching. I need you to know that YOU are worthy. You are valuable. Jesus loves you.
